The CD is finished! Well, sort of… My part and all the music is complete. Only a little mixing, the mastering to be done and then.... The Barber of Seville in Cork was a great success. I had a great time, met some wonderful new colleagues and I rediscovered Cork. It’s not the city I remember. The café scene is great.
The production has been nominated for the Irish Times Theatre Awards (the opera award), which is a real compliment. I was in Cork again just before Christmas. singing the tenor part in Mozart’s Requiem with the Cork Symphony Orchestra. The next couple of weeks I will be spending in Waterford at the Garter Lane Arts Theatre, working on a modern opera called “Lily’s Labyrinth”. The music by Marian Ingoldsby is really great BUT the cast includes nearly 100 children so it will certainly not be boring! The Veronica Dunne Singing Competition takes place in Dublin at the end of January. I’m looking forward to seeing Ronnie again and hopefully lots of old friends
